Learning Goals Reflection

Confidence- I think I have defiantly improved my confidence. The team project helped me improve as we had to speak in front of a small crowd. I am also joining in more in class discussions; I would still like to improve more though.

Interviewing- My interviewing skills have improved as we have been surveying people in the city etc. I think confidence has a lot to do with interviewing and I am improving on both.

Public speaking- One thing that has helped me improve my public speaking is the team project presentation. I think I have improved but need to improve more, but I don’t think we have done a lot yet to help me.

Small talk- Well as I make new friends and interview other people I improve my small talk. I don’t think you can really learn how to small talk but I do hope to improve on it.

Plan and strategize- So far, I think I have improved my planning and strategizing. Going on the trails have helped as we sometimes had to plan where we were going etc. During the team project trail, I defiantly knew I had to improve on planning.

Global poverty- During ethics week I learnt a lot about global poverty. It was very interesting. My knowledge has expanded and I hope to learn more.

Personal strengths and weaknesses- I don’t think I have really learnt more about my strengths or weaknesses. I have learnt more about what I like but not a lot at what I am good at.

Organization- My organization skills have improved but I do think I need to get better at it. I have been organized for trails and most of my homework. My organization skills fail me when I have to bring my laptop to class or knowing if people are going to be away for presentations.

Focus- I don’t think I have improved a lot on my focus, as my friends are sometimes distracting and I sometimes get bored. When I join in more with class discussions, I am a lot more focused. I think I need to improve more on my focus!

Learning Goals

For my primary goal I choose confidence, confidence is a big part of life. If you don’t have confidence you are most likely to have low self-esteem and making it hard to succeed. I think I need to improve on my confidence. The ways I would achieve this goal are joining in on class discussions and believing in myself more. Having a high confidence could lead to higher succeeding jobs and a better future.

I would like to improve on my interviewing because it is a good life skill to have. For jobs I might have to survey people and having the skill to interview is useful.

Public speaking is one of my goals because I feel as if I need to improve on it. When I have to present to a class or for future jobs, I will need the skill of public speaking. Public speaking is needed for nearly all jobs and during the next years of school.

I choose small talk as one of my learning goals because small talk is normally the basis of getting to know someone better. I think it is a good skill to have to meet new people and just in general, and I think I need to improve on it.

Plan and strategize is one of my goals because nearly everything you have to do you have to plan and strategize for.  It is good knowledge to have when I am planning for homework etc. I think this is something I should get better at.

Global poverty is something I would want to know more about because I want to know about the other people around the world, and when I can help the people who are in poverty. I want to learn more about global poverty, and I think it is good knowledge to have.

I choose personal strengths and weaknesses as one of my goals because I don’t know a lot of my strengths or weaknesses.  I think I need to learn more about the strengths and weaknesses so I can improve on them.

Organization is one of my goals because as I go into VCE and university, I think I need to organize my time more carefully. I think organization is helpful as it helps you to plan out your time and manage your homework.

I would like to improve on my focus because sometimes I lose concentration to talk to my friends or just get bored. Focus is one of my goals because as schooling gets harder, it could be critical if I missed some information.

About Me

My earliest memory of school is bringing play dough to kindergarten. I remember making play dough at home with my mum and then taking it to kinder. I remember being so excited to share it with my friends. All the different colours and shapes, I miss being a kid.

I learn best when I am listening to music, well I think I do anyways. It helps me, and if I am stressed about the work I become relaxed. I also like listening to music and listening to it a lot.
My worst trait is disorganization. I always think I can remember to do everything but sometimes I forget. I also find it hard to fit in friends, family, school and sports. I don’t have a diary that I want to use but every time I do bring a diary to class etc. I never use it, so I am put off using it. It’s frustrating sometimes.
My best trait is maturity. A lot of people say I am mature for my age, of course I have those moments when I am crazy but I do think I am mature for my age. Is that a good thing though? I mean do I really want to act an adult while I am still a teenage? I always hear adults saying that I wish I had my childhood back… but I do think it is a good trait.
I often wonder how it feels like for the people whom live with poverty. I wonder how it is that they can survive with such little food and water. I also wonder when the world is going to end. There are so many myths about the world dying and I also wonder if any of them are true.
The hardest thing I’ve ever done was saying no to junk food and eating healthy. I do think this was pretty hard for me as all my friends and family eat junk a lot of the time, and there is normally no other choice of what to eat. There is also peer pressure, if I am not eating what my friends are eating they might think I am weird or there is something wrong with me. But I like to eat healthy so that’s a plus and my friends aren’t like that. J
The last possession I would give up is my mobile. The reason for this is because my mobile is not only used for messaging and calling. It’s also a camera/photo album and music player all in one. It is useful and keeps me entertained.
This term I am looking forward to the outdoor camp. I have never been hiking or slept in tents in a park and I think it will be a great experience. I think it will be extremely fun and a great way to get some fresh air.
What image would you put on a postcard of Melbourne? Why? An image I would put on a postcard of Melbourne is the CBD at night looking out from the Eureka Sky Deck. I think this is a fabulous photograph and shows the night life of Melbourne. It also shows the many buildings and how beautiful Melbourne is.
Which Melbourne person would you most like to sit next to on the tram? Why? The person I would like to sit next to on a tram is Squizzy Taylor. It seems like a pretty odd choice and it is, but it would be interesting to see people’s reactions on the tram. Whether they would be scared or not, or stand up to him. I wouldn’t talk to him, but I would stare.

If you could invite any 3 people from history to dinner who would you invite? Why? The first person I would invite from history is Hitler. I would ask him so many questions about why he did such horrible things and what triggered to make him despise Jewish people so much. It would be an interesting dinner. The second person would be Monet. He is one of my favourite painters and I love his style of painting. He is very creative and inspiring and that’s why I would invite him to dinner. The last person from history who I would invite to dinner is Neil Armstrong. It would be so fascinating talking to him and how it felt being on the moon! So many questions to ask him wow!
Describe Melbourne in three words.
